So it needs to be setup so the starter motor runs when it's pushed?. Is there an internal switch that needsucks to be added for this?

No need for anything else. Once connected it is always live. Anybody can come up to your bike and engage the starter. If the ignition is not on the engine won't fire but the starter will crank the motor. I had one on my Dyna years ago due to intermittent starting problems I was having. It basically takes the starter switch out of the equation.

I have this starter, if I connect power to the big terminal and ground the case, I should be able push the button and it will engage the starter. Correct?

When I connected the solenoid to a switch, it became erratic. I think that's what caused the damage.

The compression check is reading 210, after the shop reassembled the primary. He won't put the plugs back in and try to start it; I will have to tow it home. If it's 210, what does that make the compression ratio?

My dealer installed my manual release without taking the head out...drilled the bigger hole and tapped it, cleaned it and then drilled a tiny hole through head with a bit that was new and very sharp and full of thick grease, he said when he pulled the bit out the shard if steel was still stuck on the bit

That sounds a little risky. No telling what fell into the bore. It's running ok? No issues?

Do they make thicker head gaskets, to help relieve compression?
