For me, it took 2 good coats of the base black and 3 coats of the merlot. If I didn't get the base dark enough, the color was too burgundy.

i did 2 coats base. No matter what I did the ppg came out to brown. Got some from matrix and it was to red. 2 coats of ppg, 2 coats of matrix, three coats of clear and it came out close to perfect.

Alright so I found the PPG paint code of 927490. Question is, does anyone know how many coats it supposed to take to match the factory Harley paint?

get the vivid black i ordered my merlot sunglo from color rite did my spray out and 1 coat of mid coat looked good to me ,do some spray outs and check it with side covers in the sun
