Another option is a Switchback jacket. It's a full jacket but the front and back zip off and it's mesh underneath. Great jacket for taking on trips since it's two jackets in one. The newer version even has a rain liner. Mine is an older model.
I'm so glad that I started this thread adn read all of the replies. I'm glad that I didn't just order that jacket online.
Today, I went to the Dealership and tried on that jacket. It was freaking horrible. What the dealer explained to me is the jackets sizing is a bit off to accommodate for the armor that you have to bye extra.
Based on that explanation, I will never buy riding gear online.
I did buy a jacket, below is a link to it. The dealer provided me with a 15% discount because I was buying that and an oil filter (I gotta do the 5K service). So, overall, I'm extremely pleased

My experience was exactly the opposite. None of the local dealerships had the mesh jacket that I wanted in my size and I wanted to try it on before commiting to it. But the dealer told me that if I had them order it, it was a final sale since it was a "special order." Online, however, there was a free and easy return policy offered. I told the dealer about it and how they were losing sales by having a worse order/return policy than the MoCo website and they just shrugged.
I have two mesh jackets, and both are very nice on sweltering days. Better than just shirt sleeves, as they block much of the suns heat while still allowing lots of sweat evaporation. I really should have tried one many years ago.
I got mine at swap meets, where you can find things for a small fraction of the new retail price. But, this does mean shopping around and such verses just buying it now.
I have a Fieldsheer adventure type mesh jacket. It's very well armored, which does create a small amount of heat on the back under the plates, but all in all, it breathes quite well. It has a zip in shell for those times I need some protection from the cool weather. Look very similar to this:
I also have a Harley mesh jacket. It is one air flowing jacket! To the point where it can make me chilly at time. It is far cooler than riding in just a t-shirt. But, it is not nearly as armored as the Fieldsheer jacket. Mine looks like this:
I like this jacket, I think.
I bought one on flea bay for $110 shipped.
Best/joe
Tourmaster makes good quality jackets with no billboards. I have the Air Intake 4. It has the mesh jacket with armor included, a thermal vest liner, and a waterproof/windproof liner. I have worn it in triple digit Oklahoma summers (just the mesh and a T-shirt) and in the upper 20s this spring in New Mexico (with a heated liner and gloves). I purchased it 2 or 3 years ago and it has held up well - all the zippers work and the velcro has held up well.

I was told by the dealer if they order it it's a special order and no return. They told me to order online and have it shipped to them, pick it up and if I didn't like it they can ship it back.

Sounds to me like you need to find yourself a better dealer. Here in the Carolinas, our Dealers are cool and will work with people. They're about getting their money and not having customers leave and order online.
