Default Ceramic coatings for exhaust headers?

I just saw an article on another website I frequent, expounding the benefits of a ceramic coating called Zircotec on exhaust headers. The internal temperature of the exhaust was recorded at 150 degrees Centigrade and the external temperature of the metal was low enough to be handled with gloved hands. Ceramic coatings like Jet-hot have been around for some time and used by race teams.
Why couldn't we use this application to our headers under the heat shields and get rid of some of the heat we deal with from the TC88 and TC96? Anybody have any thoughts on this?

You can, and it might help. I've had my stainless exhaust on my Sporty coated for about 5 years now. I got tired of the stainless turning yellow and purple from the heat. Look where my foot peg is. My ankle never gets hot when riding or stopped.

You might have trouble getting the heat shields back on after the coating. It is fairly thick so things may not line up good after.

I have had lots of my hot rod stuff done by Jet Hot. Great stuff! Sterling Silver is almost like chrome too! See the bike above.
Does not dull, rust and you only have to wife it clean. Soap and water cleans it just fine. Once you do this stuff you will never just have something just "polished" again. Not sure about you guys but polished parts are a pain in the butt to keep clean and sharp looking.
