Where was your FOB when you started it?

THe fob has a tiny radio transmitter in it. The bike has a receiver. For the bike to be able to start, the bike's receiver has to 'hear' the signal from the fob. If you're seeing 'no fob', then that isn't happening.

Could just be the battery in the fob, but since the bike's new, have the dealer check it. If the system fails, you could be stuck with no way to start the bike. Lots of threads about fob problems on the forum.

You can start the bike without the FOB present, you need your security code.

Hi Natalie, from across La Manche! The fob is part of the security system for your bike and looks similar to this:

I don't have a Street, so your fob may be slightly different in appearance. If you have one and your motor started, it seems everything is OK. If your bike is new read your owners manual and check with your dealer.

I agree. At least I probably would If I had any idea what that means.

Seriously, since the OP apparently understands English: This would be a good time to learn about, how to use, the turn signals and override the security in case of a bad battery or defective FOB. I assume security is the same in France as it is in the U.S.?

My bike doesn't have the security feature so this is just a question, might "No FOB" show briefly after turning on the power while the bike does a search for FOB signals? I would think the dealer should best be able to say what is going on with a new bike.

When you have started, you are walking with the "fob" in your pocket, then come back? If you move your bike away from the fob or the Fob itself away from the bike, you will see this message. As mentioned earlier, you can still run your bike without the fob, but if you stop it and do not have the fob, you need to enter the 5 digit PIN which is accompanied by your security system. Your dealer can also help you.
