Hopefully Avon will get off their ****'s and get a 19 out by next year. Because that would be my ultimate preference.
My preferred choice as well. Unfortunately the MoCo don't seem to tell the aftermarket their plans in advance, when they introduce changes like that 19" front tyre.
I run them on my Dyna but mostly because of the size (180). I like them for the Dyna...good wear and good grip. Most complain about them but I'm cool with them. With that said I wouldn't run them on the Street Glide because there are better tires available in the size I need.
Dunlop (2) 408F and American Elite
Pirelli Night Dragon
Michelin (2) Commander II and Scorcher 31
Metzeler 888
Shinko 777
There's 7 right there...all offer the 130/60-19
7 different front tires from 5 manufacturers, only 2 of which are softer compound. Compared to how many mh90's available? I view that as a smaller selection.
I, personally would not consider metzlers, because you have no idea if you will end up with a tire out of Brazil, and the quality control of those is mediocre. I also am not impressed with Dunlop tires, their overly hard IMO and have poor wet traction, particularly when it's colder.

I was directly addressing your comment...

It seems your definition is if Avon doesn't offer a size then only very few are available
If most Major Tire manufacturer (and I stopped looking) offers that size except Avon (and some offer two models), then that wouldn't fall under "Very Few" or "Few". People reading would think they were "hard to find", which is far from the truth.
There are Hard-to-Find sizes, but a 130/60-19 Front is not one of them, but I could name some
.

Thank you SO much for correcting my point of view, clearly yours must be correct and I was mistaken. My apologies for attempting to contribute my opinion to a public forum and assist someone with my perspective.
You're not getting it...I'm adding, not correcting
I didn't even give an opinion, I just pointed out a bunch of available Tires offered in that size after you made the statement that would infer that there was basically nothing to choose from...what's wrong with that?
You're correct, there is nothing offered from Avon (much to the displeasure of many), but there are other tires for people to choose from...and they do
Short Recap... You: Don't like Scorcher or Dunlop OE (408F) and wish Avon made a front tire Me: OK, there are at least 5 other tires
Michelin Scorcher tires came stock on my '11 Superglide. I changed the rear tire at 14,200 and it was shot. Probably should have been changed 1,500 miles sooner. The front tire was at the wear bars at 17,000. I'm disappointed with the front tire. I have consistently wore out two rear tires for every front tire. I've gotten 25,000+ on front tires.
I didn't care for them and replaced them with something else.
FYI
I remember reading somewhere that the Scrochers were designed for Sportsters and are made of a softer compound for better grip. Usually softer does equal better grip but also usually equates to quicker wear and less mileage.
