Apparently Im not as smart as I used to be.. Last time I ran wires I dont remember them fighting me this much. I have a pair of demoncycles 16in apes. They look like the KST mayhems. Anyways I have fought and fought these bars trying to get the cables down them on the throttle side. Im open to new ideas at this point. Any tips of tricks at this point would be appreciated. Its on a 2017 RGS FWIW.
When I did my Yaffe monkey bars I left the shrink tube long. I poked a couple holes through it at then end and ran weed wacker line through the holes. A lot of grease and swearing and the wires were through... never to come out again. Your 17 should have fewer wires, it should be a little easier.
Ive used a chain, a rope, and yes lubricant.. These sumbitches are fighting me something awful. I guess Im just venting. I know its not rocket science lol.. I just wanted to hear other peoples struggles I guess
I just did another set of PYO bars for a friend with a 16 Street Glide. The wiring put up a good fight as well.
I eventually ran the bundles of wires inside braided cable sleeve first, then passed them through the bars. Once I did that, it was the easiest set of bars I'd ever done.
The braided cable sleeve made going over the bends a cinch, and it's something I'll remember the next time I do another set of bars.
In previous installs, it just took a lot of patience and perseverance. Depending on the year and model, it can be a lot of wires to get through there.
I didnt.. My thought was that it would help keep from cutting the wires if there was any burrs on the inside of the bars. But Im gonna take it off. I have the throttle sensor ran, but nothing else will feed thru there.. Gonna pull it out and start over.

There's always that chance. Hopefully, they de-burr the bars before welding them. Good luck.
I replaced the sheathing with heat shrink tubing. Shrink tubing will make the wires stiffer and easier to run through the bars plus give wires some protection.
