Default Harley lowering shocks

I have a question, I have a friend that's selling his Harley low profileair shocks, would I have a problem with handling or other problems leaving the forks the stock height with the rear lowered ? This is on a 2006 FLHT/I
Thanks,
capt42a

That's pretty much the way the street glide comes from the factory.

You won't notice much difference after you install the HD low profile shocks. I have the HD low profile rear shocks and front lowering kit. I have experienced no handling problems whatsoever and with a 30" inseam my feet are planted firmly on the ground.

I have the same question but with dif set up. I want to add a lowering kit for the rear of an 05 RK. The kit is just a couple of brackets that lower the shock point on the rear. Will this cause any handling problems??

Thanks

I don't know which kit you're installing, but I had a White Bros. (aka Burly Brand) lowering kit on my '96 RK and never had a problem, and if anything handling was better if you don't consider the lower clearance and resulting floorboard scaping on corners. Many of these claim you retain full suspension travel, and if so would be an advantage over shorter shocks.

There will be no handling problems going to a 12" shock from the stock 13", but you will likely notice a reduction of ride comfort due to the reduced suspension travel. I wouldn't recommend these when riding two-up, and I didn't like them riding solo. I removed these shocks from my SG recently and installed some Progressive 440 12.5" rear shocks, and the ride improved greatly.

Thank you for the input!!
The kit is a R.U.B. lowering company. I used one on a 2000 FLHT but diddnt really get to ride it much before I sold it.

Thanks Again

Hey Guilty, sure dig your ride. What do you call that shade of blue-- a real head-turner.
