Default Need opinions

hello everyone

i have an 08 sg with 68,000kms on the clock and I'm about to go over it for my trip to the dragon next month

primary tensioner question .... last summer the dealer replaced the compensator under warranty as I just bought the bike last June so I would assume they would make sure it was in good shape. That being said I think I may pull the cover and check anyway what is the wear limit?

front brakes.... they all appear to have a good 1/8 inch left both sides how thick are new ones? Rear was replaced when I bought it

thanks in advance

HD Brembo pads look thin when new, they are approximately 3/16" new. Minimum replacement spec per manual is 0.4mm/.016" so you should be good to go.

With only 42k miles on your scoot, the primary shoe is most likely fine as far as wear goes but it couldn't hurt to check if you're worried about it.

If your going to have the cover off ,make sure you check the chain tension.depending on how you drive(constantly lugging engine)the auto tensioner will tighten to much, not good.

i took the cover off today and the shoe looks brand new only slight wear on the leading edge less than 1/16 and the rest of the shoe has zero wear

as for tension it has a good half inch at the top and it was sitting for only 20 mins after I rode it when I took the cover off

tension should be checked when engine is cold,3/8 to 5/8 slack.the shoe sounds like its wearing good, don't worry about it.

Fresh fluids ,good tires, just go over the main tightness of the fasteners you can get to.

I agree. It sounds like you have gone over it as well as the dealer. With that mileage I would do as suggested above, gas it up and have fun.
