Went to the Laughlin River Run a couple of months ago - Temp was 110 degrees and I ride in shorts there... WOW THE HEAT - Got home and ordered RJ's Orignals and now I can again ride in comfort!!! Living near Palm Springs "IT GET'S HOT!!! - And the RJ's allow more air to the rear Jug!! OUTSTANDING PRODUCT!
Not sure what kind these are because they were there when I got the bike but they are smoked plastic and almost look chrome most of the time because of reflection.
I like the way they look and work. I don't feel any heat from the motor.
I too put rjoriginals on mine. Works great. As a side note, they say you can't mount them on the left side if you have an adjustable riders backrest but I did anyway and find that it's easy to reach around the heat shield to adjust the backrest. Not a problem at all.
