Thanks-

Also,
Why the straps and tie downs? None of the bikes at my buddies shop (Handy lifts) tie them down. Just roll me' up, squeeze the front tire in the vise, and good to go.
Yeah, the vice that comes with it is useless. I use straps because there's no way that I want my rig coming off IF something shifts or settles or gets bumped. I've left my rigs up on it overnight sometimes and I just don't want a nasty surprise one morning. I've seen plenty of pics of bikes that have tipped over in chocks, and I don't want mine being one of them.

I'm not disagreeing, but have never seen a bike come out of the chock like the OPs. If anything, they can be next to impossible to pull the bike out without help. I KNOW THIS TO BE TRUE. I would like to see a picture of one to teach me a lesson because I have seen a bike fall off a lift table and it was a mess. Sad story, the buyer just signed the paperwork for his new Ultra. The mechanic puts it on the lift to add a few upgrades and it fell. We all heard it in the showroom. What makes the story sad is the dealer would not let the buyer out of his contact. I don't know how it fell, the dealership was being very quiet.

Here's a couple. For me, I only need to see one to know that it's possible, hence the straps. The 2nd one is a different chock, but still shows the concept.

I had one like this but in Canada our Harbour Freight is Princess Auto. Same lift though. Worked great for many years and many many repairs etc. Then wife got a trike so had to go to a bigger wider and (Five times the cost) lift. Both have been great lifts though. As far as changing tires, i bought the jack that goes under bike. Lift bike up and put jack under bike (closer to front or rear depending on job to be done). I can pull front wheel or back wheel easily, change tire and re-install. Ps when I sold the narrow old lift I got the same amount back for it that I paid new. How do you beat that !

Yeah? BMW K1200LT (the first pic, I've got one like that) clocks in a bit over 760lbs. My Roady is only about 740lbs.

How much is your limited?

The only way a bike will fall over in that chock is if it was shoved over, or if the rider leans the bike over before its locked in the chock. It won't do it on its own.

I bought one of these last year on sale for $299. Immediately changed the wheel chock and filled the oil reservoir. It was VERY low on hydraulic oil when I received it. I have a floor jack as well, but haven't touched it since I got the lift. One thing that helped me with getting the bike on and off by myself was a couple of 3 foot sections of 4X12 on each side to plant my feet on. Much less scary that way. Great investment if you've got the room.

After seeing those photos I'll stick with basic jack easy to move around bikeTable lift nice but takes up a lot of floor space
