They charged you to give you an estimate on what they would give you for your bike on a trade-in? Thinking there must be another dealer near you or a good independent mechanic. I asked for a "ballpark" on what my local dealer would charge for my 50K service. They said around $500 depending on what they found. The service according to the manual is pretty extensive. Haven't had it done yet.
Yes they charged me for an estimate on what they would give me for my bike. I'll call tomorrow to see what their price is for the 65,000 service is and let you guys know.
I know how crooked "Tony" didn't even tell me until I looked at the bill and asked what that $84 was for. My bikes running now so I'm ok, but I will never go back to Sacramento Harley Davidson that's for sure. Oh yeah they took over a week to fix it and give me an estimate on my bike. I'm not impressed with them at all.

You need to go back, if only to claim that 84 bucks! You received nothing in return for that fee, it seems to me, unless you trade in your bike?
The only thing I can think of that the bike might need to have done after 65k miles,
if it hasn't been done already, is to remove the rear swing arm and clean and grease it.
Of course all the oil changes, filters, spark plugs, and adjustments should be done at a more frequent schedule or as needed.

Unless you have lots of money, every rider should purchase a service manual for their bike. it is $35 to $70 investment, but it will have your scheduled maintenance sheet in the back. You can do your own service if you have the receipts for the oil and filter you buy at H-D, and log in the service you do in your manual. You can also read up on doing some of the of the servicing that you feel comfortable doing. It's all there if you take some time and read thru the "how to instructions". Some (not all ) of the Dealerships do not do what you are paying them to do. When we had our full on Bike Shop, customers would bring their bikes in complaining about a sticky throttle, after just having a 10K service done, and the tech did not lube the cables.... and more. Before the zerk fittings, some did not do the neck bearings either. When you are on 2 wheels, it has to be right. Ride safe and take care.
Just so you all know I talked to the manager of service Justin who did the right thing and refunded my $84 for them charging me for an estimate price on my bike.

That was awful nice of them. If you don't mind my asking, how much did they offer for the bike.
