Heading out on a long weekend trip. Going by a red wing outlet store. Been looking for a good comfortable pair of water proof boots. Red wing/Irish setter have a few pairs I want to look at. Anyone have any thoughts on their products. Thanks
Red Wing makes great boots..they will last a long time just get 'em resoled when needed.
Personally I wouldn't mess with waterproofing cause wearing thru a good soaking and then wearing them till they dry will make them fit better.

has been a great boot for me. I've had them for over 15 years, been resoled several times and they are still waterproof. If I recall correctly they were quite expensive as they are gore tex but they are absolutely water proof. Remember you get what you pay for. The last sole I put on was a vibram sole. Excellent traction in all weather types.
More recently I purchased a pair of Irish Setter 6 inch boots, stock# 83615. Very comfy boot right out of the box. I've been caught in the rain a few times and they did keep my feet dry. I'd recommend at least an 8" boot as my ankle did get wet after about 20 minutes at 50 mph in the rain. My pants leg rides up over the top of the boots when riding. Good luck.
Redwing stock# 2416 this is the steel toe version of the 1426. I didn't see them without steel toe. Be prepared for sticker shock as the price is $334.99
Irish Setter stock# 83615 This is a good boot but the sole doesn't provide the best traction. I'm eventually going to have them resoled with a vibram sole when they wear out.
