Danners are great boots. Costal boot is who makes most of Harleys boots cam get em from them. I like coastal non harley brand for work boots. Only thing about red wings I don't like is breaking them in.

X3; screw waterproofing. Natural materials are better for your feet and there are great products such as Obenauf's conditioner to restore leather to pliable, non-cracked comfort when / if / no, "when", they do get wet.

Want rotten leather and rotten feet ? Soak your boots in silicone waterproofing ! In the end, these products don't "waterproof" leather boots anyway.

Irish Setter & Red Wing (American), are excellent brands, among many, IMHO, just pick a boot that fits you well without hard spots or irregularities in feel. My $0.02, stay away from steel toes for riding. There will be a break in period with boots of this quality. A bit of Neatsfoot oil or Obenaufs oil will help speed this process.

"Good choices" OP. I hate Goretex/Neoprene, rotomolded, Sponge Bob, neo-military, day-glow bisexual footwear. "Men wear boots".

Safety first!
I did not say a thing about "waterproof" - I am talking TRACTION. I am talking about boots that don't slip and slide if the pavement or concrete is a little wet.
Key words "Excellent foot traction in a variety of conditions...".
I see folks riding with cowboy boots that might be OK doing the 'Boot Scootin' Boogie', but have NO traction on these 900 pound bikes.

I wear ariat boots when I ride and have never had a problem with traction. have you ever really looked at cowboy boots ? they are not all slick soled some of them are rubber. mine are anyhow. they actually have a tennis shoe pattern. traction has to do with material more then the cut in the sole. ever seen a pair of vans or converse ?

I also ride with Ariats...not the highest quality of boots for certain, but absolutely not the worst! They are all ropers, two slip-ons, one lacer, and all came with traction soles...my favorite pair has been re-soled with Vibram 100 soles...and when I wore the pointy toed cowboy boots for riding, I'd sole them with rubber, if they came with leather soles.

Leather soles are great for dancing, but not so pretty good for riding!

Default Red Wing Boots

Another vote for the red wings. I have a pair of the 607s that I have had for a few years now. The are as comfortable to walk in as they are to ride.Obenauf's conditioner is great stuff and I applied it to may boots when they were new. Never had wet feet with those boots and Obenauf's. Firefighters use the stuff and it is made with bees wax and tree sap so it won't mildew or sour.
