Hip soreness
I've had my new-to-me 2010 Electra Glide Ultra Classic for about 3 months, put on about 1200 miles or so. I'm getting a soreness in my left hip joint from lifting my left foot to downshift. I know it's because I'm in kind of a seated/crouched position and to lift my foot causes strain on that tendon. My toe fits under the shifter comfortably. Do I need to lower the front shift lever or get a seat that sits back farther? Both?

I only use the toe shifter - the heel shifter stops my foot from sliding off the foot-board! My heel is always on the footboard, with every gear change.
Where is your hip relative to your knee? If you are sitting with your knee higher than your hip then you may be putting too much strain on your hips anyway.
