My throttle was tight for a couple of weeks on my 2010 Street Glide. So much so that after a 300 mile ride my arm and shoulder were killing me and numb.
One day after cruising down the highway I got off at my exit. I was sitting in traffic. The RPMs went higher than usual. I twisted the throttle to try and loosen whatever was stuck. The throttle was dead. I had codes for the same. Its getting repaired as we speak. TBW.
2011 Electra glide, part throttle works, past half open is all noise. Just hear air sucking in the air cleaner. No open throttle acceleration. Any ideas? Will be checking codes tomorrow.
First try the easy fix, Turn the ignition switch on and off 4 times, pause for a few seconds in each position and don't touch the throttle. This should reset the TBW sensor.
If that doesn't work, your bike was going into limp mode and now wont run because of multiple possible issues, surprised that you don't have codes. Could be a bad induction module or frayed wires somewhere or you just might to clean the TBW plug. Right behind the air cleaner cover to the rear of the intake you will see a plug, that plug goes to the TCA (Throttle Control Actuator) disconnect the plug and clean it with some electrical contact cleaner then let it dry which should not take long, then get some good dielectric grease and put the grease on the plug ( it is hard to get the grease down in the plug so cover the plug as good as you can) do this to both the male and female part of this connection.
