Just got an 07 Electra Glide Classic and am getting ready to give it a bath. I have never had a bike with and audio system and am not sure how water proof these things are. Couldn't find anyting in the manual about it. Do I need to cover the radio and speakers or just be carefull and not spray water directly on them?
I've never had one and can't say for sure, but I would avoid spraying directly on the radio. Theres adifference between water proof and water resistant.

I wash my 2006 Ultra often and have had no problems at all. It is made for all weather conditions. I do dry it off with a air blower. But I take no percautions when washing it.
I wash mine at the high pressure car wash right down the road. I pretty much blast the front fairing and lowers head on with no problem as well as the tank, engine, tour pack and saddlebags. I stay away from the seat, speakers, and the inside front fairing with all the electronics.
This works great for me. I just take a few small towels along for drying and I'm good to go. Also, now at my local car wash is a coin operated blower right next to the vaccums. Haven't tried it yet but it is another option for drying.
Don't worry about it. Mine has sat through some pretty intense
rain storms and the gauges fill up with condensation and look nasty
but the radio always continues to work.
H-D says this is normal as they are designed as unsealed units.
I think it sucks but I'm sure the CEO gets a big bonus because of it.
