Personally dyno numbers are grossly inaccurate IMHO. Yes, those numbers provide equal in comparison to others the "majority" in relating to bragging rights, buuuuut that's it! Just a measurement of bogus high cost information.

To be specific, dyno numbers are done inside a room a controlled environment. No rider weight added, and no head winds opposing resistance. If you believe this has no effect on actual real world numbers your mistaken.

FYI - There are soooo many examples available that provide dyno numbers relating to exactly what components you have, I see no reason to shovel out $500.00 when you can just do your homework and state what other have done for ya! Then take the better half out for a steak dinner and still have enough left over for something for your scoot.

Cruise Control, ABS, Chrome Aluminum Profile Laced Spoke Tubeless Wheels, Security Package, Saddle Bag LED Lid Spoilers, and an array of accessories that enhances nostalgic appearance & blood curdling performance.

Great spirits have always encountered violent oppositions from mediocre minds.
I see where you're going with this, but you're being a bit shortsighted. Sure, if you merely want to do the upgrades, skip the dyno and go "seat-of-the-pants" to see if you improved performance - go for it! However, if you want something less subjective than "I think I feel more power", how else without a dyno run?

And sure, the dyno run is in an artificial environment [both the control run and the post-mod run], but a 10% increase in horsepower is still a 10% increase. Just because there was no rider weight or wind resistance during the test doesn't mean that when you're on the road you won't feel the difference.

And if your sole purpose in getting the dyno stats is for dick waving, I agree it's a waste of money.

I calculate the Govt's money all dang day ....millions of dollars a day.....I don't feel like performing those calculations on my Harley. If that's the case, then buying a Harley is foolish for what we pay for them. Why not buy a Suzuki or Honda........it's because we enjoy what we buy. Who cares what it costs. My golf clubs cost too much considering my scores aren't good........that Les Paul guitar......I sure don't play like a pro.........that $2,000 cannondale road bike (bicycle) I own....I sure don't ride like the pro's.......but the enjoyment is worth the money

Its simple what is your investment in performance parts including labor & dyno tunes. Now divide that number into torque gains & horse power gains.

The answer is what you spent per ft./lbs. of torque & per horse power. If that don't put my thread into perspective, then nothing will.

Like 345.00 per ft./lbs. of torque, or 238.00 per horse power gains "for example".

Why rely on a misconstrued bogus dyno's is just the start IMHO. You wouldn't pay 49.00 a pound of steak. Bottom line, why are you spending unbelievable amounts of money for minimal gains?

Maybe you should take off the part about blood curdling performance in your signature till you get your numbers up. Good luck chasing them down.
Ironic that the OP posts about others supposedly wasting money, yet he needs a signature that makes it sound like he blew a ton of cash to have some beast of a bike to ride. LOL.

That irony is no surprise; every post by the OP was loaded with irony, contradiction, and ignorance. Pointless!

I kinda feel the same way. If you don't want to spend the money on a dyno don't but don't kid yourself that the current range of tuners address much beyond the VE tables. Much more to it than that to get it to run optimally so the ECM can adjust properly within it's range all while getting all you can out of your tune.

To sit up on a soap box and say you're wasting your money to everyone in an obviously recreational forum (not investment banking here) gets old.

seems cheap comparatively......

$30k + for a new bike with 100HP is a lot more expensive per HP, if you are all about the $$/HP

If you don't check, you don't know. Its like a doctor giving you a clean bill of health without doing any testing.

B Bop, I got home from work after being taxed all day and I read your post. Thanks! My head is pounding. First off. Isn't it great that most on this forum live in the US and have the freedom to do what they want, say what they want and spend, what's left of their money on what they want.
With that said, I can still remember the first couple of months on my new to me scoot. Bike was OK. It started. It stopped. It accelerated and didn't decel pop when I let off the throttle. Added a PCV and better slip-ons. More response. Made me smile. Added suspension, cams and dyno tune. Bike was more responsive, handled great, had a load of low end torque and I smiled even more. I get almost the same gas mileage I got when I bought the bike but now keep up with my buddies 110. Was it worth it? You bet.
