I have heard of folks using Seafoam. Never tried it. That stuff is to clean out the carbon and other deposits in the engine, right??

I can change the fluids but I think this time around I'm going to take it to someone better than me so they can really look over everything.

Drain the Fuel and put in a tank of Chevron premium, along with with a bottle of :

Like above posts, Ride it for 1/2 hour, then change all your fluids in including your brake fluid and fork oil. With new tires and a new battery, you should not have any problems. And check your brake pads too....

If it starts, ride it! These people make it sound like a 50 year old barn find. It's only been 1 1/2 years! It doesn't seem like you get a lot of riding time. You can do all that time consuming maintenance in the winter.

eventually you will have to start it. just try to start it and see what happens, if it starts.... ride it. a year and a half isn't a long time to sit. mine sits for 6 months over the winter, i start it up and go after checking the air in the tires.

If I was in your shoes I would ride it down to the inspection station and get that part taken care of then I would get it registered, then I would ride the snot out of it.

drive it. If it runs good your are fine. Naturally new gas is good. like the guy said, 1.5 years is not that long especially in the south. if it runs badly do the routine, plugs, and manual clean carb. You do not want the carb not correctly operating. Could cause damage.
Bet it runs fine.
