Avon cobra have done me well. Ran them on my fat bob and they gripped terrifically dry/wet. I have one on the front of my SG right now and will be putting one on the back soon.

I'm 44 and had sport bikes when I was younger, I too like to ride hard. I love the Michelin Commander 2"s. Keep close tabs on the tire pressure and they last a long time (26000 miles so far). Dragging the footboard is fun, dragging the brackets gets me a little nervous. Whoever said you can't use the full tire on these bikes is correct. The footboard brackets hit hard way before the edge is used up.

No, slide off the seat to decrease lean angle.

I've had my RK on the track before, and do sometimes ride it hard, dragging boards and such. I also ride it in the dirt sometimes, and other inappropriate conditions. Michelin Commander II's have surprised me with how well they have done it all.

The weakest part for me so far is threshold braking. I've found them to be a bit numb when it comes to getting the tires right up to the maximum edge of braking force.

Agreed! I just picked up a K 1600 GTS, very hard to ride the glide anymore.

I have been running the Metzeler ME888 font and back for the last 20k and love them. Most of the guys I ride with use the 880's or 888's.

i like the way you think. I used to race super bikes and now ride my limited hard as well. It's a tour bike but I ride it hard as well.
