Default Two-up mileage ??

On a recent 100 mile hop with the wife, the mileage on my '96 EG was barely 30mpg. My 84 fxr gets well over 40. Are the EG #'s normal for two-up? Thanks.

The wife and I averaged 40+ mpg on a recent trip. She and I both weigh around 230 and we had both saddle bags and tourpack loaded down completely.

84Sugar,

How's your motor set-up? How was the terrain? What speeds did you average? Are you "easy" on the throttle, etc? Did you have to deal with any head-winds at all on your trip?

Alot depends on how you ride and the way your motor is set up.

My '05 E-G is a 95" with 10.25:1 and I only get about 32-34 mpg's riding solo on my one hour commute - I do have some mountain grades to deal with though, so probably would be a bit better on more level terrain. I've often wondered if my mpg's are too low, I hear conflicting accounts of mileage with these bikes. Many claim 40+ and many claim low 30's is pretty good for a 95" motor with 10.25's.

We're averaging 35 mpg, have had 2 tanks of 40 mpg (VERY moderate speeds in the mountains), but ah did manage a coupla 30 mpg tanks today!! 80 mph average runnin' speed, better half is 105 lb soakin' wet - ah'm 2.5 times that, an' the bike is fully loaded an' pullin' a WELL loaded bushtec trailer!

I get about 40 highway mpg riding two up on my '07 RKC. I've got a Stage I setup with SE/AC, V&H Ovals and PCIII/USB.

I get about 41 to 43 mpg at an indicated 70 on the speedo. Garmin says I am only doing 67.1 or so. My good friend says he gets almost 50 when he rides with me. The bikes are almost identical except he does not have the stage one. I could probably get that also if I wanted to lie a little. I can't tell any difference in one up or two up.

We are in the mid-30's for mpg with an '05 FLHTCI with 88 inch motor, stage I, SERT and V&H true duals. I tend to run about 70 on two-lane roads and 80 on interstate.
