anyone use trailer like this to haul a touring bike? found one thats been reinforced tongue and made solid instead of folding. it says its rated at 700 lbs and my bike is 800 lbs so i know its over a little but has anyone tried it?

I think you forgot to include a pic or link to the trailer you are asking about.

i wouldn't use it. i would get a trailer that can be used for other stuff too. the northern tool trailer will only be used for the bike. i have an aluma trailer that is used for everything i need it for.

Always buy bigger than you need.

A 5'x10' trailer (with a drop-down tailgate/ramp) would be the smallest trailer that I would use to haul a full sized touring bike and it can also be used for other purposes.

How far do you plan to tow with it? Looks OK but I would not go cross country with it, maybe to dealership and back or short trips.

If I were just going to use it for a bike and storage was a factor (fold up), I'd spend the extra coin for this:

I think I read on the specs that that this thing is rated for speeds up to 55 MPH. You planning on pulling it with a farm tractor?

If at some time you swap for an Ultra or other touring bike it will be even heavier than your current bike, which leaves you with an even more over-loaded trailer! I suggest looking for one with a 900-1,000 pound capacity.
