after taking several long trips now , i am convinced i need a slightly lower shield... my line of sight seems to be mostly right at the top of my current 12 inch stock... wanna go to a 10 inch clear.... having difficulty finding them.... suggestions ? thanks alot
LRS can't go wrong great prices and lots of selections
Not to mention a great warranty. I had my shield develop hairline cracks around two mounting holes after a month of riding. I emailed them some pics and they sent out a new shield the very same day.
I have used many shields from different manufacturers and long ride shield has beat them all.Quality, price and support are second to none.I have a 9 inch and a 12 inch ultra elite shields. The 9 inch for around town on hot days, works great lots of air flow. but on long trips the 9 inch is a little low. After hundreds of miles the wind and or rain gets old, thats where the 12 inch works great.Although i am 6' 2 " and looking at the top edge,it works great on windy or rainy days. This winter i may pick up a 11 inch shield and that should be the sweet spot for all riding.
Quick and cheap way is to find a plexiglass company near your location and cut it down to the height that you want. I did that to my ultra years ago, and it was a great result.

Take your shield to a glass shop and have them cut off how much you want off.
Usually they'll do it for $25 or 30 bux.
Shield fitament is crucial though.
It should hit you between your upper chin and upper mouth.
That way you can duck in under it if necessary.

I'm 5'10" HD Hammock Seat
9" is perfect for me.
