We got Love Bugs here in Fl! The best way to do I've found is lots of H2O! Use an old t shirt for the windsheild and towel on the rest. If ya let it soak for a while and don't let it dry out they just spray off!

SANDPAPER!!!!!!!!!!!

Actually I place fairing in the shade. Wet it down.
Then using bare fingers rub it with liguid dishsoap (which is what I also wash bike with in
a bucket of warm water).
Let it set a few minutes. Then using a micro fibre cloth gently wash it down.
Then after wiped dry, coat with meguiars or any other good polish.

Same way you do your shield- Towells soaked in hot water. Lay them on or sponge on the warm water, let it saok a few minutes and wipe off. NO $$$$$$$$$
Best advice you can get!

Okay - pic's worth a thousand words, right? Here's peroxide less than a minute after applyin'....bug guts/bodies are now a goopy, easily-removable glob.

The bugs had been on fer a week or so, some less - but well-baked on durin' our 3k+ mile vacation!

I tried the hydrogen peroxide and did it ever work well, bugs were baked on and so thick the front of the bike was gooey and hairy looking I figured I would need to sand em off. I sprayed the peroxide on and they foamed up some and got soft and most sprayed off the first shot, washing took care of the rest. I rode again and as soon as the bike cooled I sprayed the bugs and they wiped right off and finised with detail spray. My work truck is coated with bugs and guts and I hardly wash it so I spayed it down let it soak 5 minutes and most sprayed right off too, sure seems to work well.

HD does have a BUG-REMOVER spray. Just spray it on ... leave it for like 2-3min ... bugs wipe right off. Safe for painted parts and shields. Really does work well.

I like the HOT-TOWEL approach unless I'm on the road. Then the bug remover is GREAT to easily get your shield clean between washings. (whether it be the shield or upper/lower fairings or even tank.
