Default tour pack latches

I just had one of my tour pack latches break anyone have any replacement tips I picked up the part at the dealer 15.00 was surprised at how cheap it was. The package says they are an upgraded latch and can not be used in conjuction with the old ones. Has anyone ever had to replace these I would like to keep the upper part that is attached to the lid due to being pop riveted in.

Its been a while but I replaced the latches on my 94 and the replacements were a complete set. I can only guess they weren't improved. Rivets shouldn't be hard to replace if they are provided with the new replacement uppers. Try putting a post in the tech section.

HD has a special tool for the rivets. If you get the rivets replaced, they are .05 each, usually the tech will rivet them for a few bucks. I had my tour pak and police style saddle bag repainted this past winter asn had all the rivets replaced...about 50 of them. they charged me 75$ for it all.
If i had to do it again, i would have bought the tool and done it my self.

Well just finished replacing the latch I got lucky and did not have to replace the top piece which requires the rivets, but when I went to install the bottow have it was not tapped to accept the screw so I had to get a tap to finish the install. Chineese quality control isn't what it should be.
