Default Glove Box Spring Road Glide

Not a how to or anything but thought I would share so people could find it in the search. Broke a glove box spring on my 2013 road glide. Searched high and low for one without having to replace the whole door or ordering the 30 dollar ebay kit. Tried the clothespin spring and it was too weak. But finally found one in the garage and thought some people might be interested should they run into the problem. Anyways..

I know most of us have a battery tender. And a lot of tenders come with the alligator clamps that no one ever uses cause you have the hard wired connection. Well the spring from those clamps was perfect. Had to trim the ends slightly and bend it slightly so the ends made about a 90 degree angle from each other. The spring is slightly bigger than factory but fits perfectly. Has slightly less oomph than factory but hardly noticeable and best of all it was free because I wasn't using it anyways. Could prolly find something similar at harbor freight even if you don't have them already. Maybe some of those plastic clamps they have for holding parts together while the glue dries.

I hope this helps someone and wanted to post it since I couldn't find a similar solution while searching all over google.

When I had mine I went the same problem finding a spring.
Ended up putting locks on the doors.

When my RG Glove box spring failed, I drove directly to the dealer and traded the bike for a 2018 T/G....

True story!
