Corbin Dual Touring Seat, Comments?
Ive had other Corbin seats on other bikes, and liked them well enough.
LOL, I did that at least 6 times in the last week!
If you ask them, Corbin WILL make you a seat with softer foam.
They told me it wasn't recommended, as they said the seat will wear out much faster.
Told them I'd take the chance, and ended up with a seat that was totally comfortable
right out of the box, NO break in required!
I previously bought a used Corbin on Ebay, just to see if it would fit me and my bike.
That thing was hard as a rock! After that test, I called Corbin in FL,
the shop manager spent an hour with me customizing the seat to exactly what I wanted, not what THEY wanted to sell me.
Previously when calling the CA office, I dealt with totally RUDE people,
the last woman I dealt with was so rude, she told me that she would NOT sell me the seat I wanted!
She said "we do not use softer foam in our seats, they just do not last"
I was shocked that a sales person was refusing to sell me a seat, WTF!!
I sold the Ebay seat for what I paid for it, so that's a good way to test one if you're not sure about a Corbin.
I'm VERY happy with my close heated solo.
Had it made with Mercedes leather throughout, even the side panels, that's another thing they didn't recommend, they said that leather on the sides would wear out and crush to quickly. Also have them scoop put an inch or so from the seat bucket, so it drops me down some, and raised up the back area for more back support. Added a flame stitch pattern, that required another layer of softer foam to stitch the pattern too, and add to the comfort factor too.
I would have preferred to do a ride in custom seat with them, but since I'm 3K miles away, that wasn't possible.
I got as close to a custom seat that I could get over the phone.
My recommendation is to call the FL office, they were MILES above in the service I got compared to the jackasses in CA!!
The only thing with my custom build was that it's not returnable, and that's fine with me!
