I am a newbie, purchased 2012 Ultra in 2016, love it. last weekend while in Blackhills I broke the cap off the end of the intercom connection (cold morning-plastic) that my wife uses in the rear left hand side of bike. the only item broke is the spring loaded cap that keeps weather out of the connector for her helmet cord. so my question is, if I remove and replace the old (intercom cord) do I only need to remove the seat and gas tank? or, does someone have a diy fix for this. I know it is not the end of the world but I wanted to keep the bike in perfect working/looking condition..any thoughts. thanks.

#145 comes with ( and is held on by) a thin chrome threaded ring, with two notches- i have a pair of needle nose pliers that just happen to open that exact amount. Standard thread.
