My local dealer is doing a Stage III build on a 2018 Glide today. Doing it on the showroom floor all day. Free to everyone, Q&A's with mechanics etc. This is a pretty cool idea. Just wondering if other dealers do things like this?
I've not seen, or even heard of one before, but it sounds like a great idea. One of the local dealers in my area does have workshops for various maintenance procedures but a complete stage 3 build would be awesome to watch in a one day event. I've never attended the maintenance workshops because I don't think I'd learn much but a stage 3 would be a learning experience, even though I've done my own stage 2 build.
The HD dealer in North Hampton NH did this last year along with free pizza. The mechanic did an outstanding job walking us through the upgrade and answering everyone's questions. They were offering a discount on parts and labor if you purchased that day. I believe they sold quite a few upgrades.
That's something I'd love to observe. I believe there is a build like that on youtube
There is at least one. The one I saw was time lapse and the build itself took up about 8 minutes of a 25 minute video. And that was taken from several feet away without much detail. The rest was sales bs.
It would certainly be interesting to watch live but I don't think I could devote enough time to watch it start to finish.
If I were a dealer and sold a bike with those upgrades I might consider doing it on the sales floor as a sales tool/traffic draw but don't think I'd do it to a bike on spec.
