Default Coolant issue - advice sought

Recently I had my thermostat changed. Since then I find the coolant level drops, albeit very slowly, after about a week of daily riding. I am losing only a few ml per week - however before the work I hardly ever had to top off the coolant, so I think I am losing a little as a result of the work.

I am wondering whether I should pony up for the job to be redone in the hope the coolant loss will go away or should I just put up with it and top off every week?

What do you think? How often are you topping off coolant? What amount of coolant loss is "within acceptable tolerance" for you?

Do you think this loss of coolant is the result of the thermostat work you had done?

How long has this been going on?? Some times when the coolant system is refilled, the level will settle due to an air bubble. I've flushed my system twice and both times had to recheck the coolant level and add a very small amount over a couple weeks until it settled.

OK thanks for that information - it has only been a couple of weeks since I had the work done. I'll give it a couple more weeks to see if it stabilizes or not....

Yes I suspect that maybe a small leak was introduced due to the work done.

Have you looked for the leak?
If not, go for a good long ride, when you get back put it up on a jack or lift, and LOOK FOR THE LEAK. It won't be hard to find. Sure, it could be overflow, whatever.
But it might not...

How far away is your shop? A pressure check would settle this question quickly. If there is a leak and there wasn't before the T stat change, they should be made aware and be responsible for the fix. If there isn't a leak, a few top-offs will get the level back up and it should then stay full.

after i changed my coolant i've had to top off the bottle several times. what i've found is you must remove the cap and add coolant, not just the reserve bottle. after taking the twist cap off it was low a couple of times until the air worked it's way out. if you are just topping off by adding top the overflow bottle , you'll be doing it forever.
