I'm doing research on changing out my pipes and air cleaner, and am leaning towards the SERT over the PC III based on all of the comments I've read. What I have been unable to find is the latest SERT manual which covers the 07's and what canned/pre-tuned files come with the SERT?
I'm looking at getting Rinehart True Duals, with the SE Air Cleaner for my Road King Classic. I'm assuming there is a canned map that will cover this configuration, but want to be sure before I spend the cash. While I know a dyno tune is the way to get the best performance, I just want to ensure I can drive it around until I have a moment to drop it off for a dyno.
The cals that are included cover '07's but are tuned for SE stuff only. So, you won't find anything specific to Rinehart true duals but you will find a cal for touring bikes, stock engine, SE Air Cleaner and "racing" pipes that will be close enough.
I have the SE AC and Rinehart SO's on the stock headers on my '07 RKC and the canned cal was pretty close. I have since made some modest tweaks on my own but have yet had it in for a dyno tune. Plan on doing a data run or two this week end and tuning a bit myself.
yup, i agree. select a map that is close to what you have. then check the plugs for a lean condition. have heard some have used the 103 ci map to richen it up. i elected to dyno and have a custom map built for my UC using my SERT, but a good start is just using a map that is close to what you have and tweaking from there.
Thanks for the advice. I plan on doing the install myself, and just want to make sure I can have something to ride around with prior to getting the dyno tune. It sounds like SERT offers the most flexibility for tuning.

Thanks for any input.
Not sure what year your bike is, but have you looked at hdmaps.com? They have lots of Rhiehart maps for sale.

You'll use Calibration #67 File Name 159AE003-A1.MT6 which is indicated for the Shotgun/Shorty Dual Exhaust setups for the '07's.
HERE and HERE offer some light reading and explanation if you are interested.
I am curious what the real difference is between calibration # 67 and # 78. It is really not clear in the write ups that are in the PDF file. They do not have a clear description of what they mean by "Shotgun/Shorty Dual Exhaust" vs "Touring Exhaust". Here are the PDF descriptions -
Touring exhaust's refer to the stock headers which closely mimick a 2:1 pipe. True duals are free(er) flowing pipesin which the VE tables are setup more closelyandfunction better with the Cal #67 Shotgun/Shorty map.
Read the second thread I listed and ShovelHeadBob re-enforces this.
Excellent, thank you that does clear it up. I suspected this but it is certainly not clear from the way they have it written up in the calibration descriptions.
I do find it interesting that by in large the documentation, both the user manual and the pull down help in the software itself, for the SERT is really very complete, clear and concise, with the notable exception of the documentation on the calibrations wrt the different exhaust configurations.
