Jack Clearance Methods?
What do guys use to ride up onto so that the RED Sears jack will fit underneath an SG?
I tried, and flat on the garage floor, the jack won't slide under the bike.
Yeah, I could ride it up into a 2 x 4, but thought some of you may have something more ingenious...?
Apologies if this is an old topic...I know it's been up here before...just couldn't find it in the archives.

2X6 under the rear...yup...Perfect! That's what I needed...I wasn't even thinking that I only had to do ONE wheel...and the rear makes complete sense! Sheesh...thanks, man.Too much time flying around our beautiful country that my brain turns-off when I am sittin still...Later,

I'd get a sheet of plywood, park the bike on it, mark tire, kick stand locations, cut the extra and use it to add enough layers to theideal ares as needed. Also cut and notch for the jack to roll in to, which locates the jack in the ideal place. Whennot in use stow it against the wall, but that is justme. For me it isn't the take off that counts nearly as much as the landing.

I do like your thinking there, though...maybe when I finish rebuilding my garage...and my tool collection (got robbed).

I just put a either the Harley Puck or a 1/2-3/4 inch pcs of wood under the jiffy stand. It inlinates just enough to slid the jack under no problem.
I use a Don Shalla super jack excellent pc if equipment.
Always keep two on the ground.

That'sone of the reasonsI bought the yellow Sears jack, you can roll it under and visually put it in the exact spot even on the Jiffy stand, and it's a whole lot lighter. I'd bring it back if you just bought it and get the yellow one, otherwise follow the suggestions given.
I have a rk custom. Also, factory lowered. I had my mind set on buying the red jack and using a two by six. The wife went out and bought me the yellow one for my Birthday on the 10th of June. And I am glad she did. It was really the one that I wanted, but couldn't justify the difference in price. Now, I don't have to worry about it. I sure do have a great wife.
I roll the jack up to the right side of the bike whilethe bike ison the jiffy stand and I line up the left part of the jack with the channel on the rear part of the frame. Then I grab the front brake/grip and pull the bike upright as I slide the jack under the bike. As soon as the jack is all the way under the bike it will hold the bike upright. Then just check to make sure the bike is centered on the jack and start to lift it.
