I have a 14 Fat Bob and love it. Not getting rid of it.
Wife is beating me up about getting something she is more comfortable for weekend trips.
I am thinking Road or Street glide, and have two very quick questions.
What year did these models start to have OEM NAV systems.
I like the on board NAV.
and my 14 dyna has the blacked out motor and pipes.
I have really learned how much I enjoy that over the last few years as not always cleaning chrome.
Is there a suffix or specific model that will have the "blacked out" motor and pipes.
ETA:
and because I'm "learning" are tour packs on Ultras quick detachable?
I'm just wondering what models I should be looking for as I search the internet.

Note:
You will need to have the 6.5" infotainment system to get NAV
Road Glide Special and Street Glide Special both have that system.
The standard Road Glide and Street glide come with the 4.3" infotainment system, which does not have NAV.
But I believe the larger system is an option for those bikes.

From the factory, the tour packs are NOT detachable.
But they make a detachable kit, if you want to have that feature.
The road king special was blacked out starting in 17. The RG and SG specials are blacked out for 18. Prior to that you're taking chrome off and buying black or powder coating. The blacked out specials also have extended bags.
Conventional wisdom is that it's easier to adapt an Ultra to an SG look-alike, than convert an SG to an Ultra. Buy an Ultra, then tweek it, Mrs R will thank you! The stock SG seat is not suitable for passengers, especially one you cherish, also has lowered rear suspension, which is not very passenger friendly.
