OldPhat is right. the 2018 Road Glide Special and Street Glide Special are blacked out from the factory (painted inner fairing as opposed to the matte finish, ABS with REFLEX Braking/Security/6.5" Infotainment Unit are standard, all blacked out engine/pipes and stretched bags). Lots of cool things on them. Plus you get the Milwaukee Eight Engine. Worth looking at for sure.

On a side note I was once a "Dyna guy" as well. 2010 Fat Bob and LOVED that bike. Cool looking, nimble, fun to drive and comfortable. I reluctantly sold it to get a 2012 Street Glide because I wanted a more touring type bike because we were going on more overnight trips and the Bob just wasn't cutting it for luggage. I thought for sure I was giving up the fun factor for function.......well was I surprised at how much fun the SG is to ride. It's just a blast. Plus you get a radio (thought I'd hate it) and you get bags to carry all of your buddies **** that they can't carry....I was pleasantly surprised at the feel of the glide.

Yep, I also went from a 2009 Fat Bob to a 2011 Street Glide.
Never regretted that decision at all.

But then traded the Street Glide for our current Limited.
Even Better!

this is good advice if you want to stay on budget... you don't have to polish the chrome all that often... they will get dirty if you ride them

I went from a 15 fat bob to a 14 SGS and never looked back. I loved my dyna but the street glide is perfect.

If it's about making her happy on long weekend getaways, get an Ultra. She'll be more comfortable with the back and arm rests and the bigger passenger seat. You'll love the extra storage and nothing eats up hwy miles better than an Ultra. Don't worry about removing the tour pack. Odd's are you never would anyway. For those rides, you'll be on the Fat Bob instead.

Don't ever forget. If she's not happy, you wont be happy.

If you're on budget and only using it just for weekend trips, I'm sure you can find a great deal on a pre Rushmore bike. My 13 limited looks just as nice as any Rushmore and rides and runs great. I have a GPS mounted on the handlebars that's probably better than what's on the Rushmore's.

I have a Road King that we used to take on trips and she made me buy an Ultra as a second bike so she would be more comfortable. God I love her!!

I've said it here on the forum many times, the only thing better than having a Harley in the garage is having two Harley's in the garage.

Good luck with your decision.
