Hi I would like know what kind of rear bags you guys have. I am too cheap to get a tourpak and would like recommendations. One big enough to fit a full face helmet inside.
That is what it known as an open question - there are too many answers for us to make a start! Give us some clues - you can put a helmet in a soft bag and hold it down using an elastic 'octopus' - or put it in a tourpak.....
T-Bags makes good quality stuff. I have a few different models. One for the tour pack rack when I'm traveling with the wife and a couple others for traveling solo. They have many options. I like the Super-T a lot as it sits on the passenger seat or luggage rack equally well.
I have the HD rolling tour bag and am happy with it. It will fit on the passenger seat where it can serve as a rider backrest with a clip on pad, or can ride on the luggage rack. I got it at a pretty good discount shortly after buying my bike. It is easy on and off, stable (I rode the Dragon to Deals Gap with it), and plenty big enough for me to take on a week-long road trip.
Same here. I do at least one trip a year of 2 or 3 weeks duration. I like the ability to take as much as I can to reduce the times I need to do laundry. I also take a 3/4 and a modular. I keep the extra helmet in a small bag on the luggage rack.

Well a tourpak is out of the question. Those are about 800 bucks plus you have to buy the mounting hardware. I already have a wolfman duffel bag but I need something to protect my helmet from the elements and rain. I work in a prison so I can't bring my helmet inside. And it is very dusty where I work so by the time I need to leave, my helmet is coated in a layer of dust. Everyone here has made great recomendations.
I use the HD day bag as my daily trunk for my Deluxe. Fits my FF helmet and rain gear when touring. It comes with a rain cover. My GF also uses the same on her Deluxe, and we both use the HD rolling bag, as mentioned above, when on long trips. Just put the day bag over the rolling bag handle and roll everything in the hotel.
