Hello! I have a 07 road glide with cruise control, and I want to replace to stock handlebars for a pretty nice 18in ones, I have changed a few handlebars for some dynas, but I've never changed any bike with cruise control, so the big question here is, does the cruise control needs a wiring extension like a turn signal at the moment of replacing the new apes? or the cruise control works with the throttle cables? my bike rides a mechanical throttle, not an electronic one. This is my first post on the forum, so if I mess up with something, sorry!
The cruise uses your cables. Unless you need or want the roll off feature, you will just need longer cables. Or get extended cables with the roll off switch built in. Nothing electrical on the bars for the cruise.

I cannot thank you enough my friend! I'll do it my self!
I have an 07 as well and have factory cruise. Hate to be the bearer of bad news but if you want your on/off set/resume switches next to your grips where they are from factory I think you're going to have to extend the wiring harness on both bars with apes that high. Just my. 02 cents but there isn't enough slack in my harness maybe your bike is different.
Not true. The switch housing has the electrical connection to resume, increase and decrease speed for the cruise. The cruise module uses a cable to attach to the throttle body, but that module gets its electrical signal from the handlebar switch.
To the OP - Don't let it deter you. It's still just cutting and splicing longer sections of wire. Get a wiring extension kit from any number of places and you will even have the correct color wire for each extension. This is not a hard job. Remember to stagger your solder connections so you can still get the bundle through the bars.

Edit to add, looks like Namz is now making kits that doesn't require soldering. Just unplug the wiring from the plug and place the extension in. I think this is the kit you want. Double check fitment though. https://www.jpcycles.com/product/300-243
