Then you see and feel my point, there is not very much resistance there.
This pretty much proves what I have been trying to explain.
When they are worn out, they shock the crank more than if they were not there at all.!
Simple kinetics really, as this truly shows what a whimpy snuber this comp thing is.
As I have said Many times B4,- if this thing is all that stands between a broken crank or not HD truly sucks.
To date, no one anywhere has ever proven a comp deletion is what broke their crank.
You all carry do what you like.
Still don't understand your point. Most are not worn out.. And they work fine. Heck even many of the worn out ones work well they just make noise. I'll agree, if broken, they don't work..
Not sure what you mean by the comps sucking.. The EVO/early TC ones were pretty good until you put a bunch of power to them, then they wear out. Sometime the Bellevile springs break but that is rare. The later ones are smoother and they were a little bit weaker. The ones in the M8s are great. They work vary well.
I konow that with the new hd compensators you need to glue with epoxy an oil feeder on the primary cover, was your on the cover pretty good after all those miles, heat, oil and vibration?

It's hard to believe that it rusts in an oil bath but that's how much centrifugal force it has and why the new one's sling oil from the inside out. I've seen many of them that look exactly like that and much worse. While you are into the clutch you should check the primary output shaft bearing and seal, you aren't that far from have all the bugs out of the primary. All ***** makes a nice kit. Nice catch on the comp ! Myself and some friends have over 50,000 miles on the new style comps and checked mine at 40,000 and looks brand new with zero wear and no free play at all.
