i have a 2013 HD Road Glide with an oil cooler and it overheated in a parade the other day. Do I need to have the oil cooler checked out or is there a fix for this
Welcome to the forum. Oil coolers do little for you in stop and go traffic or in a parade, they need airflow to work. A good tune helps the best, next I have a fan assisted oil cooler and a set of Love Juggs fan on my cylinder head. I've never had an issue in any conditions.
Define overheat? Tune, fans, remove Cat converter, larger oil cooler all somewhat help. When the bike gets hot , it will just get hotter until you either get air flow or shut it down...

I had the same problem. First I got a dyno tune that helped but still got way to hot in traffic. Next I put on a set of Live Jugs Mighty Mites and that stopped my bike from going in to etims. The wife still didnt like all the heat under her right foot. I ditched the cat and it runs better and the heat issues are gone.
