I have an Ultra and swap rides with a buddy that has an RG.
The RG is definitely more nimble in the twisties. You definitely get more wind/buffeting on the RG mostly over the top of the screen as it's quite a bit shorter than the Ultras.
If there were such a model as an RG Ultra I'd be interested. Of course you could pretty much build your own but would be expensive.
I doubt you'd be disappointed with the RG.

As said the Roadglide is Harley's best kept secret. After riding the one my son bought I have to agree. He put a Clearview windsheild on and that just made it better. Told me to ride it to work(144 miles round trip)one weekend so I did.

I like it like that! I boughtminealready turned, but I have to agree with you. It would cost a bunch to turn one into a Ultra.[]

On you other bike, unless you're making turns at less than 3mph, your headlight isn't turning either. You lean, the bike leans, the headlight leans. Same on all bikes, cars don't turn either, well some do, but very little

It cost me $1800 in parts to put it in Ultra Trim, the wife is happy so it was money well spent. my previous ride was a lowered 96 Heritage with apes the diference in rides is night and day with such an improvement the wind/ buffeting for me has not been an issue. most comfortable ride I have ever owned in 35 years.

I'm looking for pros and cons from owners of Road Glides.
The RG is the best handling of the Harley baggers. Once you get past the look of the shark fairing, you'll see why most modern tourers use frame mounted fairings. You're probably going to have to experiment with different windshields - I never found one for either of my Glides ('06 and '07) that eliminated helmet buffeting. And if you go with an '07, you're going to have to do the stage 1 update to bring the engine heat down to about the same level of earlier years' models.

Test drive for a day is not the same as owning one. I test drove my Deuce and after owning it I'm not so happy.

How much air turbulance on the driver? Any helmet buffeting?

What about the fixed fairing and headlights around turns at night? Seems like the fairing would be pointing more straight as the rest of the bike is turning?

Are there anything that youi guys would change if you could about the bike.

They don't seem ot be popular in the northeast as they are in other parts of the country for some reason.
i have 3 different windscreens for my RG. a super short one that goes with my single seat no tourpack bad boy look lol, the stock screen for shorter trips and general riding and a taller one that makes the stereo sound better and keeps the wind off me for longer trips.

the headlight thing is just bs

love my RG

My only problem is that it isn't 100hp and 100ft/lb torque. [sm=badbadbad.gif]Other then that, the RG rocks. Again, it's Harley's best kept secret.

ONly bike that I have owned and probably the last one. I have demo rode many others The wind from those are more uncomfortable. Like the road kings with windshiels and softtails.
