Default Question about easy install?

I bought some stuff from the local dealer here yesterday. Everything in stock was 20% off so I bought the Premimum Tour-Pak Rack and a voltage regulator cover for my 07 Ultra Classic. I spent FOREVER last nightinstalling the rack because I am so picky about getting it exactly straight but I finally got on the way I wanted it. Leaving the easier Voltage Reg. cover for today to put on. I got everyhting down to sliding the cover on and it will not fit. It seemsso wide it is hitting the frame on both sides before it is coming to rest on the regulator. I checked the part numbers (74543-00) on the website and everything says it should fit. What am I missing here? should it slide on with no catches?

I, personally don't have one. And never will. Your regulator needs air to stay cool. Covering it up would make it retain more heat. I would return it, but, that may just be me.

I agree with PT. It would look cool to chrome cover it but it would be cooler (with less chance of failure) if you didn't.

If you have to have chrome down there (although not as cheap) you can buy the chrome voltage regulator. Part #74622-06. I'm going that route.
