I have been using one since I purchased my bike new about a year and a half ago. Very few dead spots, but I only listen to Sirius. Have never tried AM/FM. But in retrospect, had I known about the under-seat mod, I would have probably gone that route.

I have one and have had no issues at all. Not sure why some seem to work great and others not so much. I would certainly do it again since it has worked well for me and it really cleans up the back end of the bike. It is a powered antenna so if installed properly should provide good reception.

I just tried this method and my reception went from good to horrible. I cant really get local stations at all. I ordered the in fairing antenna.

I haven't tried the in-faring because I had read about poor reception, so I run mine under the tank. Works for me.

I have the HD antenna under my fairing on my 2014 FLHTK. It seems to work fine out here in central Nebraska but there aren't a lot of station options anyway. That's why I now use satellite radio most of the time.

I live in the SF BayArea and stock is so bad even in city never use it. Out in flyover country is useless. Had to go Pandora and XM. So no antenna is almost as good, you won’t tell the difference.

They are a compromise antenna, highly directional off the front and back and deep nulls/dropoffs off the ends. I wouldn't run one.

Got my in fairing antenna off fleabay for less than 30 bucks. Works good with fm but loose about 5 or 10 miles range when out of town. I'd do it again. Great choice in bikes by the way. I saw 1 at the dealer this week its beautiful. Enjoy

I'm the same as everyone, hit or miss. Had H-D one on 13 RG and it worked great. Tried a cheapo fleabay one on my 16 and it was crap. Just switched to air ride and drop seat on 16 so antenna isn't an option, so going to try the H-D version again. New CVO has it as well but won't be trying it until snow clears.
