Default stock 07 FLHT

Anybody else keeping there bike's engine completely stock? So far I have on my 07 FLHT and I've got almost 11,000 miles on it. I think I'm going to keep it that way too. Don't want loud exhaust because I take a lot of long trips and that just gets annoying after awhile. Can't say I'm really bothered by the heat either and I get stuck in DC traffic all the time. If I was back home in SC I would probobly never fell the heat because I'm never in the city back there. By the way traded my bike in in late Dec. Anybody have more miles than that in about 6 months?

I kept mine bone stock for 13,000 miles. Then I added Rush slip ons, developed a pinging problem, then added the stage 1 AC and download to solve that. Next andhopefullylast thing until the engine wears outwill be to change from 2.25" baffles to 1.75". The 2.25's wig out the 02 sensors; I found that out after the fact.

If your satisfied the way it is, by all means leave it be. Once the mods start, many will tell you, they never end.

I've left mine strictly stock. It ran good right out of the box except for six gear clatter and poor gas mileage. The 1K mile service (change to synthetic oil and fuel injection mapping "recall") resolved those issues.

I'm averaging 45 mpg with two up riding. I didn't get if for gas mileage - would have kept the EVO if that were the case - but I figure any mods will bring the mileage down and why do that at $3.00+ per gal.

I do feel the heat at stop lights but it's not a bother. We tend to tour the boonies so we don't do much parade speed stop and go. We get traffic congestion during leaf peeping (October)but a little heat at that time of year is usually welcome.

Although the exhaust note is muted,it hasa better sound than earlier models that were hideously quiet until the baffles were knocked out. Like you said, they're not annoying going down the road butyou can hear 'em.

It starts good, on and off throttle response is good, no stumbling or wheezing so I'm in no rush to change things.

They start out stock. The EPA has Harley choke them down and literally plug up the exhaust. By changing pipes and air cleaners and doing the re-map (or re-jet in my case) we are just putting them "Back to Stock" . . .

Right ??!!

Mine is still stock and I plan on keeping it that way. Then again I have only had it 2 weeks. I have 1100 miles on it. I wanted to break it in before we leave on our trip 6/20.

I have 7500 miles on mine, average 38 mpg in local commuting, and have seen 51 mpg two up at 70 mph. The 51 mpg was over three fill ups. Totally stock, however in stop and go traffic and 90+ temps the engine heat is pretty tough to handle. Sunday the wife rode with her right foot on top of the bag guard for awhile in stop and go traffic before we got on the interstate.

My 07 RG is completely stock also. I too have no plans to do any performance modifications.

Mine is stock except for the Rush mufflers, which were added only because I like the sound and which do nothing for adding power by themselves. The bike is more than fast enough to out accelerate any car in traffic, and I have no desire to spend thousands of dollars to pick up a few hp on a bike that'll still get spanked by some 16 year old kid on a 600cc crotch rocket. If I wanted fast & powerful I woulda bought a VMax, not a 800 lb touring bike.
Mine runs smooth, starts quickly, has no stumbling problems, doesn't pop on decel, doesn't foul plugs, and I get 38 mpg city and 50+ mpg highway at 70 mph.
For me, stock is good...
