RE: Drivers Adjustable backrest install on 06 Street Glide
Bryan ,
I have the same back rest and it will move you forward. I took the cover off mine and shaved the foam in a curve to fit my back and not move me forward. Now I love it. Just pull the staples out and take the cover off, shape the foam to fit you and then pull the cover back tight and restaple, I shaped it a couple times, when it was right I restapled. Hope this helps ya

Dothe non adjustable ones move your forward also?
Vader and Mathews2 Thanks for the info.
From whatI haveread on the forum Yes they do. That's why I was curious about the adjustable ones. Seems like the HD backrests all push you front.
Before anybody chimes in about aMustang no I'm not getting a Mustang seat with a back rest cause that seat moves you forward towards the tank an inch or so.[:'(]
I want to go Back, Back, Baby.
How do you like it and how much adjustment do you have. I want to put one on my Road Glide butjust have this fear of it moving too far forward. [:'(]
I didn't know how much I would like the backrest, but I rode over 1,000 miles, 525 June 23rd and 550 June 25th and man what a difference it makes, the move forward was great I even adjusted forward a little more on the trip, I was skeptical about the adjustable backrest but after the trip I would differently say spend the $300.00 its worth every cent.
