has anybody done it? after riding 1220 miles last friday-sunday I think they would be a lot more comfortable, but I want to see some pictures. So post 'em if you got 'em
I'm quite tall and have been thinking of installing some mini-ape hangers on my Ultra for some time now. There have been lots of posts about this subject so do a little searching on this site and you should find tons of opinions and info.
I've seen several Dustin that were done that way. All of them were real tall guys. They look kind of odd sitting there, but looked fine with the rider on them as they seemed "normal size" then.
I'd like to do this on my SG---seen a lot of guys with Apes on RGs and RKs but not on batwing bikes

I wasalso thinking about doing itbutcouldn't decide if I liked it or not. I saw a bunch of batwings with apes this week at Laconia and they really looked pretty good. Sat on some to get the feel of them and IMHO the best were right around 11"-13" Anything over that was to far above the faring. The majority of the guys running them were very tall and said they helped relieved the stress in their necks and backs. Looks like it will become a winter project for me this year.

Thats what I'm looking for, and I've dislocated my right shoulder 4 times and I was really starting to feel it towards the end of our 1200 mile trip over the weekend. Thank God for cruise control, without it I would really be hurting.
I love my apes on my '05 rk custom. They relieve most, to all, of my back pain, while riding. Looks are important, but not at the sake of your comfort. If they help, you will love the ride. I was once told, the more uncomfortable you look, the cooler it is. JMHO
