Slip on alignment
I have installed a pair of RCX slip-ons onto my 2017 RKS. The right slide aligns perfectly with plenty of space under the bag....but, the left side seems to be higher and closer to the bag. Why...what did I do wrong...what wasn't is the instructions to prevent this?
Why did you post this in the "Touring forum" and the "Sportster forum"?
I don't think you did anything wrong, I've heard of this happening, even stock mufflers are not perfect. I would try loosening the clamps and mounts for that side, re-align and tighten.

now that was an insightful reply!
I'm sure once you figure that out, I will have already obtained actual suggestions to resolve my issue....kinda like what "OldMike" provided which was in fact helpful.

If you haven't fiddled with mufflers much before it is easy to install them slightly twisted, that is the rear mounting lugs are not at the 12 o'clock position but might be at 11 to 11:30, for example. That will both raise the muffler slightly and move it a bit to the left or right. If it were a saddle bag support problem, you should have noticed it when removing the old mufflers. Are the mounting lugs on both mufflers the same height? I can hardly believe a factory could mess that up, but anything is possible. Any chance one of the lengthwise flat mounting bars that go between the lugs and through the rubber cushion is upside down? That would be hard to force through the rubber cushion but if you didn't notice the difference, the cushion is rubber an can be overcome. Hope it is something easy and does not require bending or realigning something else.
