Thoughts on loose clutch cable

I haven't taken it apart yet but am interested in ideas of what I may find. I had adjusted my clutch and after about maybe 100 miles it would crawl away with lever pulled in. I adjusted again and today it got a ride home on a tow truck. It had become so loose that it was total unusable. The cable did not feel like it snapped but become more loose over an hour or so today, it seemed fine when I started out. I have been backing it out about 3/4 turn per our local HD tech. This is a braided cable with about 8k on it. I am going to start with replacing the cable but any ideas of what else to look for. Thanks

I'd start by checking the locknut at the clutch.

I can't see the cable loosening enough to cause the problem you're having in such a short period of time, unless it broke.

Ramp and ballz might be f'd up. Is your braided line a new addition?

Clutch release bearing under ramp and ***** is probably toast.

those two little steps,all the slack out of cable and turn adjuster all the way in to set the ramp are big. Tow truck?

I just replaced my clutch cable and noticed what a high quality part HD makes and for only 37$ w/boot included,wow dont see that too often.

adjusted clutch screw. It was tight when backing out. I cleaned and replaced, when adjusting cable it about seperated before getting most of the slack ou but when pulling lever it seems that cable doesn't move. I guess cable is shot and/or ramp and ball issues. What goes bad with ramp and is that common. Thanks
