Ok seeing I have rebuilt everything except the front shocks in my 2010 ultra they are next on the list. Seeing I've never done a set I do have a service manual and I can read my question is do I need any special tools and what are the best springs for a 250 lb man? I home there is a kit that has seals and bushings just not sure on the springs
Well, I believe the fork cap will take a 1-3/8 wrench if you dont have one of those, be aware to follow the advise in the manual about using an impact gun to remove the bottom damper bolts so that you dont strip them out. Those will take an Allen bit, I just cut off the short part of the L from a cheap Allen wrench and used the long piece.
HD sells a fork rebuild kit with all of the necessary seals, bushings, damper bolts and crush washers.
Its suggested to use a fork oil level tool but I simply used a piece of string to measure the air gap when filling the forks back up.
As for the springs, you can get heavy duty springs from companies like Progressive Suspension but I dont know what theyre generally rated for. Take the advise from your other front fork threads though and either upgrade to cartridges or go cheaper and at least get a set of valves like the Ricor Intiminators. I wouldnt just replace the springs alone and expect to see much difference.

Try Race Tech for springs (single rate). They have a sizing chart on the web site. There is a tool available to remove the fork caps (internal). HD has a fork rebuild kit with seals and bushings.
I'm rebuilding mine this winter. Race tech springs and Ricor Intiminators.
