FWIW, a buddy just bought an '07 vivid black Road Glide for under MSRP at a local dealer not noted for discounting.
Given the date, however, I'd probably wait for the '08's and figure I could get an even better discount to compare to the '08 pricing. As for last year's same dilema, my buddy bought an '06 EGC in July and is very happy he didn't buy an '07--when he buys (probably this winter)a six-speed it will be a Baker OD6, not the EPA-fix HD six offered in '07. And he did a strong Head-quarters 95" build that's providing 100+/100+, so the 96 offered in '07 has little relevance for him. But that's a highly personal choice.
Ask most who bought in late spring 06 if they wished they had waited a few more months[:@]...definately wait a few weeks....
As if they gonna make another drastic change again only a year later...they gonna keep the new status quo to at least make more money off the R&D from it. And yes I bought an '06 2 months prior to the release of the '07's and yes I am still happy and in love with my purchase and won't trade for another for a LONG TIME if ever. But then again I love classics.
I thought about selling my '05 rk custom and get a SG. But, my bike is paid, and to get a SG I would have to finance the difference. Heck, if I am going to finance anything, it should be a new ride for the ol' lady. Then, I would have two bikes to ride.

Yaaa, your right...bumping up 8 inchs is soooo-draastic...they won't do sumptin craaazy like that for a looong time..in 06 they popped the Harmon-Cardon radio in and late 05 buyers(me included) grumbled..in 07 they stroke the 88...late 06 owners grumble(no, not EVERYONE I know, but a lot)...it doesn't mean we can't be happy with what we got..I love my 05, runs like a champ..but! if Papa Travis is this close to next year release, it seems foolish not to hold off and see what's around the corner first, heck, he's got a ride so no harm..JMHO...
Buy it now. There will always be a next years model, with the promise of upgrades and such. Just like electronics/TV's/computers. If you wait for the 08's, then you'll hear the rumors of the 2009's and you'll never get a bike
It's a month from now, and there is already a RK in the garage...wait! If for no other reason than there may be a new color that you fall in love with. Or a new model (unlikely).
I was in the same place 2 years ago. Just about bought a 2005 Road King. I decided to wait, and the Street Glide was introduced. I still think that the RK is the best looking HD out there, but I prefer the fairing and stereo, so am glad I waited the few weeks.
I'd wait a month and see what's new with the '08's. If it's not much different than the 07's, I'd look for a good deal on an '07. Like everyone else has said, it's only a month away and you have a bike, so it's not a biggie.
