You are maikin' my '07 stock black road glide look like sheedoodle! I haven't done anything but a windscreen change yet. I can't decide exactly what I want to do and I do not want to have a bunch of afterthought mods thrown together. I am waiting until I get a clear plan mapped out before I start any modification. Your bike looks great! I am thinking it would look even better with black powder coated wheels! Can you do a sound download with the new pipes? Britt
Do a search for Bassani by author tgaetto on this forum. He posted a great sound clip for the road rage.
Got the Road Rage and SE Heavy Breather kit on tonight. Downloaded a MAP from hdmaps.com with the SERT. Everything seems good. Pipe was a mother to get lined up. Ended up having to ditch the Bassani trans bracket and use the stock one. Install instructions were non-existant. There is a definite order things must go together for this pipe to line up.
Bottom line is, I LOVE IT! Sounds completely unique. Sorry the pics are so bad, my test ride went a little longer than I thought and I didn't make it home with very much light. BTW - Compared to my old RKC, these RG's put out a hell of a lot of light in the darkness.
I put the same one on my SG back in Feb. when they first came out and really like it except for the color. I wish they would make the filter material in black instead of the off white that turns a pinkish red when you treat it with the filter oil. I keep the black rain cover on mine because of that color. Don't really like the look of the rain cover but it's better than the alternative.
Cowboyglide - Do you have the Screamin Eagle Heavy Breather, or the Forcewinder aircleaner. I was told a rain cover was not available for the SE version I have. I used to have a Forcewinder on my sporty that had a black rain cover. Let me know, cause I'd like to have it if one is available for the SE version.
Looks sweet! Don't ya just love the sound of these pipes? Headsjustturn when people hear ya coming. The sound is trulyunique. You pretty much approached your build the way I did mine. I had a picture in my head for years. When I got the bike I didnât put anything on that wasnât in the design plan. The worst part was going almost 10 months with the stock pipes while waiting on the RR.
I have the Harley SE one and the black rain sock with the SE logo on itl Itwas $18.00 if I remember right. I looked for the receipt but couldn't find it. I bought mine at Riverside Harley in lawrence Ks. If you can't find one I'll ask my parts guy for the part # tomorrow.
