Default No high beam

I have no high beam on this 95 Electra I just bought seems like I'm not getting voltage at switch when I turn on high beam and on low am only getting 5.42v is this the switch or is it further down the wire as a short. Also if it is the switch where can I find decent parts online. Thanks

Have you checked or changed the bulb? Or are you saying you've done that and found no power to high beam? An electrical problem could be in the lefthand switch-gear or wiring. It is an unfortunate fact that owners often trap a wire when refitting the controls, after a handlebar switch, for example. It takes a bit of care and effort to avoid trapping and damaging a wire!

For future reference we have a dedicated Evo section, where you can meet up with plenty of felloe owners.

Yeah I changed the bulb but remembered that It was not working before guy I bought it off said he just changed the handle bars. When I removed the housing to check voltages I found that I wasn't getting any volts when I switched it to high beam from low.

You should have 3 wires connected to the Hi/Lo switch.
BE (Blue) - 12 V Power
Y (Yellow) - Low Beam
W (White) - High Beam

You can also take a look at the 15 Amp "Lights" fuse. Make sure there's no corrosion.

Here's a link to a parts finder that's great for getting part numbers, then you can order from a dealer or google/ebay the number.

You can also get wiring diagrams at Harley Davidson's Service Info Portal
https://serviceinfo.harley-davidson.com/sip/index
Just do a search for "1995 wiring"

Unfortunately electrical problems after a handlebar change are common all around HDF. There are some ham-fisted people out there! Hopefully that is where you will find the source of your problem. Fingers crossed!

CHeck your fuse. If burnt, then you have wires grounding out. Had the same issue on a RK,

A '95 Glide doesn't have fuses, only circuit breakers.
